2005 Meridian Kessler Day Tour

Meridian Street ... and Beyond

Featured at this year's Home and Garden Tour are seven beautiful and distinctive homes in the Meridian Kessler Neighborhood. Homeowners have graciously agreed to open their homes and are proud to showcase their talents and creative projects to the community. They have exerted much time and energy in their renovations, landscaping, painting, and additions.

The Day Tour will take place on Saturday, June 25 and Sunday, June 26 from Noon-5:00pm. Tickets may be purchased at any of the tour homes the day of the tour for $15.00, or purchased in advance for $12.00 at these locations:

  • G. Thrapp Jewelers
  • Hamaker Pharmacy (49th & Pennsylvania)
  • Taste Café
  • The National Bank of Indianapolis (49th & Pennsylvania)
  • Glendale Mall's information center

This event includes a strong representation of the diversity of one of the oldest neighborhoods in Indianapolis. Most of the homes that have been chosen for the tour were built in the twenties and thirties and contain much of the original architecture. We invite you to take a stroll down memory lane as you visit these homes of yesteryear with updated interiors for today's style of living. Walk down the tree-lined streets and visit with our neighborhood in this charming tour of homes.

Day Tour Homes:

David Clingan & David Hudelson

Hosted by: Tim & Erin McNulty
Great style and funky collections turned this utilitarian house into a chic new version of the 1950’s ranch.  Before you enter, notice how this exterior color defines the house, yet keeps it in tune with the more traditional homes in the neighborhood.  Look for the gargoyle on the chimney.  It protects our homeowners from those evil spirits!

This classic contemporary home masterfully combines period with vogue. The vintage furnishings, monochromatic color scheme, and original abstract art give this beauty a rare sophistication that belies the four active boys growing up inside. Note the unusual floor plan of this home and the unique octagonal dining room.

Expect a butler to step out any minute in this fabulously appointed English country home. The Hepplewhite reproduction dining table is set for an elegant dinner with authentic 18th century Creamware by Wedgwood, and displayed on the piano is The Frog Service reproduced by Wedgwood which Catherine the Great of Russia made famous. And try, if you can, to detect four spies framed by Vanity Fair as you ascend the stairway!
