Visible Downtown Improvement! The IDI Cleaning Advisory Committee set a goal in 2000 to improve Downtown cleanliness by developing and implementing a coordinated sidewalk pressure washing plan. Now, four years later, the sidewalk results are 95.8 percent "clean", 3 percent "fair" and 1.2 percent "dirty". There has been a 200 percent improvement in the "clean" rating since May 2000. This victory is part of the reason why more than 86 percent of central Indiana residents think Downtown is clean. Our 135 Cleaning Partners, representing 536 properties, demonstrate a highly successful public/private partnership. Downtown workers, residents and visitors can continue to help keep Downtown clean. Please dispose of cigarettes, litter and gum in trashcans. |
