Forsaken alleys -- take them back!!!
The newly formed Beautification Committee for Meridian Kessler has some
suggestions to help you manage the forsaken territory behind your home!!!
Alleys are an ever-present aspect of our community whose welfare is easily
overlooked. It is easy and irrefutable to point to the city's lack of
investment in their maintenance as the source of their deterioration.
While it is easy to criticize this dearth of funding, the city of
Indianapolis does provide a resource to residents that makes alley cleanup
possible through its grant funded Keep Indianapolis Beautiful (aka
KIB)
program. more

They may have left Butler University at the end of their first year there
over 55 years ago, but they ended up at the top of the heap in the music

musical collaboration at Butler University in 1948 when they formed the
singing group--Hal's Harmonizers. more
Problem Properties: a thing of the past? Well, not yet, but we
are making progress. Those who attended the first
meeting of the property task force on July 27th have a passion about
seeing our neighborhood improve through improved properties. One thing
seems clear----we all share a vision of homes with clean backyards and
alleys---no trash or rats, mowed grass, satellite dishes in inconspicuous
locations, no abandoned houses, no drug houses and responsible landlords
who are community-minded and involved. more
