Community Blood Drives

Since the first positive COVID-19 cases were diagnosed in Indiana, Versiti Blood Center of Indiana has lost over 130,000 blood donations with at least 4,000 drives canceled and the need is only growing. In partnership with Versiti (formerly Indiana Blood Center) and the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church & School (317 E. 57th Street) and Crossroads AME Church (4602 N. College Ave) we are coordinating two all-day, Community Blood Drives right here in Meridian-Kessler.
Businesses and schools remain closed despite the State slowly opening up and the need for blood will be even greater due to elective surgeries being scheduled again, increased traffic, and traumas. It is critically important that healthy individuals continue to donate to minimize disruptions to ensure blood is available for patients

A number of precautions will be taken to ensure the safety of all donors, IHM & Crossroads AME staff, and medical personnel:
– All donors must have an appointment to donate blood. No walk-up appointments will be offered.
– All donors are required to wear a mask throughout the entire donation process.
– All donors must be in good health and symptom-free.
– All donors will be given a temperature check before entering the building.
An extensive list of precautions taken by medical staff can be found here.
